Currently..

Things have been slow around here lately. And that's ok. It all ebbs and flows. I try to post daily on Instagram and Twitter, but I don't feel guilty in the slightest if I don't. Or, for that matter if I don't do a blog post daily. I'll get around to writing when it's right. When I have something to say, something to show.

It's that time of my study semester when all my mid-terms are due. Case studies, exams, essays. I've been busy studying, or writing. I'm enjoying it, the human body is an amazing thing.

I've been spending time with my girls. They're inspiring. I love them. Every time I am with them, I am so glad I got on that bus and went to the first meeting, instead of bailing, which I was so so close to doing.

I'm getting ready for our trip. It's just over a month away. I'm so excited. I'm excited to show Jesse around two cities that I love. I hope he loves them too. I'm excited to see family I haven't see in 8 years, and I'm excited to meet family I've never met.

I'm finally getting around to all those 'I gotta do that' jobs in the house. Hanging pictures, cutting the lawn, decluttering, choosing a new couch.

I've been hanging out with Jesse, Kransky and Major Tom. Coop, well Coop like to hang with himself. Major Tom and Kransky have reached some sort of mutual tolerance of each other. Although they still fight over my lap sometimes.

Life is pretty good.

Things I Love Thursday

It feels like FOREVER since I've done a Things I Love Thursday post!

First of all. This video has been doing the rounds, but I think it's fantastic. If you haven't watched it, please take just 4 minutes out of your day to do so.

Via Forever21
I am still searching for the perfect pair of jeggings for the plane. I think these are it. Well, they better be, I just bought them.

Via Forever21
And this dress. I couldn't pass it up. Perfect throw on dress I think. Plus, monochrome stripes, can't go wrong :)

Via Forever21
Mean girls inspired T-shirt? As if I wasn't going to buy this.
Via ASOS
Guh, this glitter clutch is so gorgeous! The colour is so bold.

Via ASOS

I would totally match that clutch with these shoes. I LOVE these shoes.

Via ASOS Curve
And wear them both with this playsuit. Which is so totally Alex from Jet Georgette's style (I may have sent it to her, hoping she'll buy it!)

Totally didn't mean to buy anything...those Forever21 items just slipped into my basked, and I fell and hit the purchase button....

Perth Curvettes Modern Princesses - Princess Jasmine

So, I inadvertently took a week off from blogging. Eh, these things happen. But, I'm back today with another princess! This time I've chosen one of my all time favourite princesses, Princess Jasmine

Aladdin was one of mine and my brothers favourite films. We used to watch it, rewind the tape (yes, tape) and watch it again. We knew all the words. I always wanted Jasmines long black hair. We even had one of those green screen videos made at SciTech of us flying on a magic carpet.

Here is my Jasmine inspired outfit.

When I think of Jasmine, I think of a strong independent woman. Yes, she was a princess, blah, blah - but she fell in love with a peasant, she went against the grain.

I knew instantly I wanted to use this dress for Jasmine. I always think of her when I put it on, I'm not really sure why!

Dress - Forever21
Belt - ASOS Curve
Hair Clip - Cute n Creepy
Necklace - Target
Shoes - eBay

Now I'm off to watch Aladdin!

Perth Curvettes Modern Princesses - Princess Buttercup

Hello everyone!! I totally forgot to mention that the new Perth Curvettes challenge is Princesses!! This can be Disney, real or other. It's a reimagining, inspiration or a copy. This is going to be such a fun challenge.

I'm kicking mine of with my all time favourite princess - Princess Buttercup.

I am a big fan of The Princess Bride, both the book and the film (if you haven't read the book, I strongly suggest you read it!), so Buttercup seemed like a good first choice for me.

Now, I don't do red. So, I have taken inspiration from her outfit, and created my own Princess Buttercup outfit.

My signature colour is pink, so I figured that would be a good colour to choose. Plus, it's a bold colour, just like Buttercups red dress.

I kept my makeup simple - some BB cream and a dash of mascara, and just tied my hair simply.

Tunic - City Chic (similar)
Long sleeved crop - ASOS
Belt - Second hand
Stockings - Sonsee Woman
Boots - Autograph (last season)

What do you think? I think I did pretty well updating her outfit, and making it mine. Now, if I can get Jesse to dress as Westley, I think we've got a pretty great couples costume.

June Instagram Round-Up

I'm having a hard time believing that it's July already. Or that is just over 2 months until our trip. Wow!

June was a pretty fun month, here are some highlights.

I made kick-ass chicken pies

Went to dinner and to see a band with these cuties.

Created this awesome outfit.

Went to the zoo!

His and Hers drinks on date night

Jesse and I swapped name tags. Date night to see To Be Takai

I nailed my eye make up for dinner with the girls

Love these gorgeous ladies so much!

Won a mini pass to Revelation Film Festival!

It was our anniversary, so we celebrated with pizza and beer

We had a lunch date. We shared this dish and the one below. Best food ever.

Butter spread on cornbread dipped in that curry was a taste sensation!

I left my phone at my parents house and couldn't Instagram or snap chat for 24 hours! I dyed my hair and snapped this photo as soon as I got it back!

I went to pick up all my tickets for Revelation Film Festival, and we had a sneaky churros date
Yeah, June, you were ok!
