I'm a member of quite a few clothing groups on Facebook. Not all of them are exclusively plus size, but the discussions that come up in so many of them make me want to scream.
So many women out there have a wardrobe of clothes that don't fit them. They're 'holding on to them until they lose weight'. NO! And, all the other women encourage this kind of behaviour. I'm not saying it isn't ok to lose weight, absolutely, if that's the path you've chosen, then that's fine, that's your choice and no one else can or should judge you. But to have a wardrobe full of clothes that don't fit you is simply the wrong way to go about life.
Why, you ask? Because you end up with a wardrobe of clothes that don't fit, and therefore a world of heartbreak every time you go to get dressed, because your clothes don't fit, which leads to more body hatred. My advice? Get rid of every single bit of clothing that does not fit you or you do not like on. Sell them. Then use the money to buy clothes that fit. There is nothing more empowering that pulling out a dress that you know fits your body perfectly, that you feel great in, to make you confident in your body.
Do it. You can thank me later.
A-meeennnnnn sister!
