London Days 1-3

We are having a lazy day today after a super busy 4 days in Paris. So, I thought it would be a good opportunity to blog! I'm going to break it all up, because, well otherwise the posts would be so super long even I would probably give up reading them :)

MONDAY - Was pretty uneventful. We landed about 6.30am and by the time we go our bags (they put ours through on the wrong baggage reclaim carousel, just ours, and we honestly thought out luggage was lost) and made our way to Grandmas, we were ready for a nap. Once we woke up and freshened up, we headed into Oxford street to sort out our phones and do a bit of shopping. We hit up the M&S food hall, which I had been sorely missing, and headed home to feast on our bounty.

TUESDAY - We went to the National Portrait Gallery. It's one of my favourite galleries, and I used to work in Covent Garden when I lived here, so was a lovely spot to stroll around in a break. While we were waiting for them to open, we strolled down to Trafalgar Square and took some photos of the large blue cock.

After the gallery we took a stroll to Covent Garden. There was a wine bar there that Jesse wanted to try, but nothing on the menu took our fancy, so we had some amazing pizza instead.

On the way home we decided to stop off at Oxford Street again and hit up Primark. After we both hit the shopping jackpot, we headed home for a bit of a rest before meeting my Aunt and Cousin for dinner.

We went for a walk on Hampstead Heath and then went to a lovely little restaurant near there for dinner.

Needless to say we were absolutely exhausted by the time we got home!!

WEDNESDAY - We headed into Borough Market to go to a lovely little Natural Wine bar there. Jesse had met the manager in Perth recently. It was seriously one of the nicest lunches we've had. We ended up staying for nearly 3 hours.

The food was absolutely excellent. We were stuffed by the time we rolled outta there.

We had booked on a Jack The Ripper tour in the evening, and didn't really have time to go home, so we made our way to Shoreditch so Jesse could visit a perfume shop there. He spent a good 45 minutes smelling all their fragrances before deciding on the one he wanted. Then we strolled down to Whitechapel and made ourselves cosy in The Ten Bells until our tour started.

I absolutely had a blast on the tour. The guide was excellent, very funny and charming. He also used 'Ripper Vision' which meant he projected images of the crime scenes, photos of the victims, and pictures of the buildings onto the walls. It was so interesting. I highly recommend it.

We finished out the night with a not-so-great curry in Brick Lane before falling into our beds.

I'll be back soon with Days 4-7!!
