So Long December, You've Been Shitty.

December has probably been the worst month I have had for a very very very long time. I can't wait for it to be over. I've been depressed, my grandmother died, had fights, been tired all the time and have been very broke.

Don't get me wrong, it's had some shining moments. I started a casual retail job, which I absolutely love. I have never worked retail before, but I love fashion and clothes so much, I had a feeling I would love working with them, and I do. I got some new tattoos. I organised our family Christmas, which was fun. And I had fun time with Jesse and my Curvettes. But, unfortunately, this time, the bad outweighed the good.

I'm ending this year looking totally 90's. I'm going to blast the Spice Girls all day long.

I'm going to go eat some meatballs at Ikea with my girl, Corri. Then, I was planning on spending the night at home with some food and movies, because Jesse is working, but last night my Dad convinced me (didn't take much) to go up there and eat bbq and swim. And test drive their new car (I threw that last bit in).

I am so looking forward to next year. January marks 2 months till our wedding. It means hair and makeup trials. It means post our invitations, meeting with our ring maker, caterers and celebrant to finalise details. Then the countdown to March 14 begins. The countdown to becoming my best friends Wife.

Dress - City Chic
Shoes - Betts

I really love this pineapple dress. I didn't when I first saw it, but it grew on me. I love that the sheer top underneath is removable, so I can wear the dress with out it, and also wear it as a cool sheer top. It's breezy and comfortable. The perfect dress to take me through my whole day today.

I haven't been around much this month, but I plan to come back strong next year.

So Long December, You've been Shitty.

The Way We Talk To Ourselves

I overheard a woman telling her friend to buy the smaller size item of clothing (I assume the didn't have her regular size) because she will 'lose weight to fit into it'. And I almost drew blood I bit my tongue so hard. Never buy clothes that don't fit you now. It only perpetuates a negative body image. And that got me thinking about how we talk to ourselves.

A few years ago, I made the conscious choice to start talking to myself positively, instead of negatively. It was an effort. I had to consciously stop myself from saying something negative, and change it to positive. It was hard. But, now, it's normal. It's how I talk to myself every day. "Wow, my hair looks banging today" "My makeup looks great!" "I love the way this dress looks on my body".

Don't get me wrong, I have bad days. We all do, that's part of being human. But I try not to let it stop me, my hair isn't behaving, oh well, let it do what it wants, and own it. I'm not feeling quite so fierce in that dress, fake it. Fake the confidence until it comes. Because, it will.

If we keep talking to ourselves from a place of hate and negativity, we will never be happy. We will always be upset about the way we look or the things we have (it comes back to my motto of "I am enough', post here). When you start talking to yourself positively, lots changes. You'll be happier, you'll see beauty in everything, you'll draw more positive happy people into your life, it will be easier to let go of the people who bring you down, or not let them affect you so much. Good things will start happening everywhere.

Never ever ever be afraid to boast. Forget what you've been told. If you look freaking hot today, scream it. Post a photo and say 'Man I look hot today' You'll be totally amazed at peoples reactions. I promise no one will say 'stop being so full of yourself' or 'nope'. They'll will marvel at your confidence, and agree, yes, you do look hot today! Be proud, and celebrate things. Any achievement, no matter how small, is worth a celebration. And that can be any celebration, buying yourself an iced coffee, a new nail polish, anything. But treat yourself well, and often. You deserve it. You deserve to be happy, to think you are great, and to love yourself.

Good things come out of it, I know. I've had it happen.

November Instagram Round-up

It's totally hard to believe it's December already. This year has been absolutely massive! Can't wait to do a year round-up!

Kransky was unimpressed that I chose to have a Neurofeedback session over entertaining him.

But he was entirely happy when I gave him a brand new bone.

I made a batch of coconut ice.

And salted caramels.

Jesse and I went to a wedding! It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and we had so much fun!

The founding members of the Perth Curvettes.

We were told to look like we were in love. This was our immediate reaction.

We kept the faces rolling.

Kransky decided to go swimming in the river.

My Sister and I went to see Mockingjay part 1 in full fan girl attire.

The cutest cuties that ever cuted.

Picnic and Jeff Lang and the Fremantle Arts Centre with my Sister and Nephews. What a terrible thing to do! :)

All it all it was a pretty good month. Sure I had some shitty things happen, but the good far outweighed the bad.

5 Beauty Products I am Loving

So, I've become addicted to beauty vlogs on YouTube. Seriously. I've never really been a huge makeup person. That's changing. I'm obsessed!!

Here are the products I've been using for a while, and absolutely LOVE!

1. Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream

Let's start with skin care. I have a hard time with moisturisers. Finding one that doesn't make me too oily, or make me break out. I have psoriasis and contact dermatitis, and I'm a little bit allergic to everything. So, when I come across something that works, I usually stick with it.

I was hesitant to try this moisturiser, but, I got a 2 free sample pots, so I had nothing to lose. O.M.G. It's quite literally the best moisturiser I have ever used. It's goes on beautifully, doesn't make me break out, doesn't make me an oil slick, and my skin is so smooth it's redonk. The sample pot lasted me about 2 months. I'm going to buy a full size as soon as my second pot runs out. And I want to buy the rest of their So Radiant range. My mum has it all, and I'm super jealous!!

2. Benefit They're Real! Push up liner

It took me a little while to get the hang of using this liner, but once I did, I fell in love.

It's so great for creating both subtle and dramatic eyes. Its super long lasting, and doesn't transfer. I have hooded eyes, so almost all eyeliner transfers, not this one!

3. Benefit They're Real! Mascara

I'm a bit of a mascara addict. Before this one came into my life, I had about 6 tubes on the go. I like big, dramatic lashes at all times. Nothing really offered me that.

I received a sample tube of this, and my life was changed forever. It doesn't clump, it doesn't transfer, it seperates, volumizes and lengthens. It's seriously a miracle product. Why you would use any other mascara, I don't really know. I wear this every day, and I just am so in love.

4. Models Prefer Brow Perfection Palette.

I have never really done anything with my brows, except have them threaded. And I have serious brow envy. Some ladies just have unbelievable brows! I was perusing Priceline the other day, and they had this on sale for $6. And I though, for $6 I'll give it a go.

It's a super great palette. The brush included is easy to use, and although 2 of the colours are probably a bit too dark for me to use on my brows, I will totally use them as eye shadows. And it comes with wax for setting as well. I have been using this almost every day as well, totally changed my brow game.

5. Essence Colour & Go nail polish

I love nail polish, but I hardly every colour my nails because I'm too impatient to wait for them to dry. The I grabbed a pot of this to paint my nails for Kate's wedding, and was amazed.

Via Priceline

It dried in about 30 seconds. The brush is flat and thick, so it's super easy to paint it on, and it's very pigmented, you could get away with only one coat if you were in a super rush. I have since bought 3 more colours, and I love them.

So, I'm by no means a beauty blogger, or an expert, but I am totally loving this 5 products at the moment!
