Aussie Curves - Perth Meet Up

On Friday night, I was lucky enough to meet some of the girls from my Aussie Curves group, who also live in Perth.

It was pouring down rain, I was nervous, I nearly cancelled. I was the first one there, after having been rained on waiting for my bus. The bar was packed, it was noisy, I almost left. But, I am SO SO SO glad that I didn't. Kate arrived first, we grabbed a drink, and found a semi-quiet spot to wait for the others. The Sarah arrived, and we decided to move to the restaurant where we could get a table, it was quiet, and we could eat.

We quickly settled in to easy conversation while we waited for Alexandra and Natalie to arrive. Once they did, the conversation kept flowing. We ate some food, had some drinks, laughed a whole lot, and became instant friends.

We are already planning our next meet up, and we have all been in conversation over facebook since meeting. It is so wonderful to meet some amazing, like minded women, who I get on so well with. I am so glad that I didn't cancel. These women are awesome!

Aussie Curves - Work

This weeks Aussie Curves theme is work. I don't really have separate work clothes. I wear my everyday clothes to work. It's good, because I don't have to buy fun clothes, and work clothes, I can just buy clothes!

This is what I actually wore to work on Saturday. I take almost all my outfit shots at work at the moment. Hopefully when we buy our new house, I will have somewhere to take them at home too!

I really need a new pair of flat black shoes. Both these and my other ones with the bows on them have had it. Or, maybe I should just exclusively wear my jellies.

Things I Love Thursday

This weeks post should be called 'Thing I Want From ASOS'.

Via ASOS

This bag, is like my dream bag. It's everything I want in a bag. Family, you should totally buy this for me now, and keep it as a Christmas present.

Via ASOS

This penguin scarf is just too cute.

Via ASOS Curve

I'm not usually drawn to yellow clothes, but I love this skirt.

Via ASOS Curve
This bikini is all kinds of gorgeous. I really wish I needed a bikini but, I don't like the beach, so I never go, and Mum and Dad are probably having their pool filled in, so I won't have easy access to a pool. Maybe I should just buy it anyway.

Short and sweet from me this week!

What I Wore - Scuba Skirt

I have been lusting after this skirt, pretty much since it was first released. I finally bought it last week, and I'm in love. I realise I say that about nearly all my clothes, but it's true.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen a little sneak peek of this last week. When it arrived, I had to try it on straight away, and then take some photos.

This skirt is seriously cool. It's shiny, it's tight, it hugs my hips and bum just right, and you just can't help but touch it.

I went and got my fringe trimmed yesterday morning. There is nothing like a trim to make you feel good. I am attempting to grow my very thin hair at the moment. I usually keep my hair short, but I'm over it. I haven't had long hair since I was about 11. It got to just below my shoulders a few years ago when I was living abroad, but I cut it all off before I came home. I'm determined!

I urge you all to go and check out Harlow. They're an independent Australian plus size designer, and their stuff is awesome, and affordable.

Fat Bitch eCourse catch up

Wow, I am so behind on these posts! This is going to be a mega catch up!

So, the topics I'm catching up on are

Loving Your Body

I've spoken about this quite a lot before (Here, here). Loving your body, doesn't just happen over night. It's hard to start loving something you've been taught to hate, or that people tell you, you should hate. But, fuck 'em. There is beauty in every body. I find beauty in my own body every day. Whether is my cushiony stomach that my little pup likes to snuggle in to, or the way my hips look in a super tight skirt. Look at yourself lots, take lots of photos, and look at them. You will start to see the beauty in your body, and you will start to love it.

Get Involved

I'm not really sure how involved I am, I mean this blog is a body positive space, I donate to body positive causes, read other body positive blogs. I guess I like to think that my little contribution makes a difference!

Haters Gonna Hate

Ain't that the truth. No matter what you do, someone is going to hate on it. This isn't just about fat people, or fat people being visible, happy, and loving what they've got. It is about everything. Some people are so terribly jealous, and uphappy, they project that on to you. A little while a go, I made a post about not hating my arms, and a family member took it upon herself to tell me that being fat was clearly eating me up inside, otherwise I wouldn't write about it all the time, started also attacking my brothers, and my parents. Needless to say, I cut that hater out of my life, I don't need her to project her shit on to me. But, don't let them get you down! Keep doing what you're doing. For every hater, there are HEAPS of cheerleaders! Tell the haters where to go, and forget about them.

Being Visible and Brave

I feel like I'm pretty rad at this. I wear what I want, crop tops, short skirts, body con, and I wear it with pride and my head held high. I give no fucks as to what other people think about me. The people I love love me, and that's all I care about!

Dealing with Diet Talk

To be honest, I basically just ignore it. I report any diet ads that come up in my facebook feed as spam, I don't read any blogs or articles on the topic, and I don't engage with anyone who tries to talk to me about it. I'm not interested in it. I'm not interested in losing 10kgs in 10 days. So, I spend my time reading and talking about the things I am interested in.

Media Influence

Again, I just ignore it. I don't buy fashion magazines, I prefer to get my fix from body positive blogs, I don't read really read anything that might contain anything body shaming. I don't watch TV, so I don't have to deal with body shaming ads. And, if one happens to slip through, I usually find out who to contact and send them an email about how inappropriate their ad is. So far, I've only had 1 company reply and apologise, but hey, it makes me feel good!

So, seriously, just live your life they way you want to live it. No one has any say over you, your body or your actions but you! And to end, here are some awesome photos on me, doing what I want.

If you want to join in, read all about it here!

Aussie Curves - Feminine

I really think that leather and lace is super feminine. It's edgy, and pretty, and fun. So, when I saw that Feminine was in the challenge list again, I knew exactly what I was going to wear.

So, I normally wear another top under this lace number, but I decided that I was going to be a little daring for this challenge!

I seriously love this skirt so hard. I can dress it up or down, and always feel so good when I wear it.
