Things I Love Thursday

I know, I know, this is very late. Thursday is almost over (for me!) but, better late than never, hey?

Via River Island

There is just something about these shoes that I love. I want to wear them with absolutely everything.

Via Carmakoma

I don't usually go for oversized, but I am so loving this longline spotty jumper from Carmakoma.

I am dying over these clutches from New Look. I've already made a pact with myself that if I see them in store when I'm in London, I am allowed to buy them!

That's it from me today. Short and sweet. Just like me!!

Life Lately

I have been trying all day to sit down and write this post. Things just keep getting in the way! Like my neglected bloglovin queue!

Thursday I had some work to do before running some errands and meeting Katie for a coffee.

Saturday I went out with my folks. We stopped for breakfast before doing a bit of shopping. Then I cam home and napped :)

We decided to try La Veen on King st, and it was so good. I had this iced coffee

And these amazing waffles. Everything was absolutely delicious!

Saturday night Kransky and I started a Harry Potter marathon, before crawling into bed too late

Sunday I headed up to my folks, and we wen to their local farmers market where I scored these amazing handmade chocolates from The Cocoa Patch. I even saved 3 for Jesse!

Not long till my trip now! I'm so beyond excited!!

Thing I Love Thursday

I'm trying so hard not to buy anything now until London. It's really really really really hard. Really. I am lusting after all these things!

Via Mod Cloth

This dress is so cute. It's the perfect LBD for me.

Via Mod Cloth

These shoes are just so cute!

Via City Chic

I love the lace collar on this top. They brought out some like this a little while ago, only they were peplum tops, and I'm really over peplums, so I was happy when they release this. Pity I can't buy it!!

Via City Chic

I'm loving this corset style belt!

Via ASOS Curve

A little bunny ring!! Need I say more?

Via ASOS Curve
I am so in love with this simple, casual playsuit, I keep looking at it. Adding it to my bag, going no, I can't. Then starting the cycle all over again. This just looks so perfect for summer!

Life Lately

It's all happening!! It's only 17 days till we leave. I'm so excited!

I really honestly haven't been up to much lately. Just working, studying and watching a bucket load of TV. I feel like I'm in holiday mode already, which I shouldn't be, but I am just so very much looking forward to it!

Special Agent Dale Cooper went to the groomers and got a hair cut. He look hilarious, but is so much happier without all that hair.

Jemima, Molly & Kranksy hung out while I took care of some filing.

I found this old photo of me. I've always been adorable :P

This dude likes to share my pillow sometimes.

I fulfilled my ultimate teenage life goal. I saw Hanson live in concert. They played Mmmbop and I had to sit down for a bit.

LOOK IT'S HANSON!!

Sunday morning breakfast.

Walks with this dude "I know the way mum!"

I guess I should get back to work!

Are You Enough?

A few different things have led to this post. Conversations with friends and colleagues, in forums, Suger and Alex's post about implicit or core values. And it's been floating around in my brain for about a week, and it's finally taken shape.

At a workshop I was at with some colleagues, and friends a weekend or so ago, we were talking about our implicit values. Those values that we carry with us that help us be who we want to be in the world. My core values help me be safe in the knowledge that I am enough.

99% of the time (because lets face it, we're human, and we all have totally shit times sometimes, and that's ok. It's part of life) I know that at that point in time, I am enough. Just typing those words bring about such powerful emotions. I went through so many years of my life believe that I was not enough. That I needed to be thinner, richer, smarter, more travelling, have a bigger house, a better car, more friends, expensive clothes. I don't. How I am, right now. Is enough.

So many people go through life thinking that they aren't. Imagine the shift in the community we live in as a whole if we changed our thinking. If we stopped believing the media, and started believing that we are ok, just how we are. Life would be easy. Life should be easy. That was a huge lesson for me. Life doesn't need to be hard.

Start being ok with who you are right now. This doesn't mean that bettering yourself should stop, no, that's not what I'm saying. But, if you are ok with who you are now, things become easy. It doesn't matter if you get that promotion, if you do, fantastic, but you were still good enough at that lower position. You get what I'm saying?

I have a job that I love. Study that I love. A partner who doesn't want me to be anything more that what I am. A family who thinks the same. I don't expect them to be anything more than who they are. Because we are enough.

I am enough. Are you?

Things I Love Thursday

I've already deemed this summer the summer of the crop top. I've decided that I'm going to wear so many crop tops it's not funny. I want to wear them with shorts, skirts, over my bikini. I'm going to dominate!!!!

ANYWAY! with that in mind, I've been looking at a bunch of crop tops. And while I'm probably going to order every one available in Chubby Cartwheels new Summer Strut collection, I've also come across some other really cool stuff. But, lets start with the crop tops :)

Via Jibri

This Jibri crop is so perfect I might weep. When I imagine the summer of crop tops in my head, I am wearing a top exactly like this with my distressed denim shorts. LOVE.

Via Forever21+

This one comes in a range of colours. I want them all! I love the cut out at the back.

Via Forever21+

Yep. The motivate me to keep on being me. I couldn't care less what the haters think.

Pink Clove Via ASOS Curve

I love the mesh at the top of this black top. It just gives it something more.

New Look via ASOS Curve

I totally love these culottes from New Look. They seem like they are the perfect thing to throw on to go to the beach, or to a summer picnic.

Via ASOS Curve
This is so not in my colour (however it is in Alex's!) but I love the style. If this was in black I would be swooning.

That's it for this week. Anyone want to join me in making summer 14/15 the summer of the crop top???

What I Wore - Stripes For Life

What can I say? I'm still totally obsessed with monochrome stripes. To me they are just so chic. So, when I saw this dress on Forever21, I knew it had to be mine. It was shipped to Alex's house, and we she brought it over, and I slipped it on, we both knew that I would probably never take it off.

It is so comfortable it's unbelievable. It's heavy. It feels good to wear it. It keeps its shape. This is going to become one of those dresses I feel instantly good in. That I can put on when I'm having an off day and know it looks good without any effort form me.

This is the kind of dress that I feel comfortable wearing just around the house and running errands, but also for a night out. Like I said, it's effortlessly chic.

Perth Curvettes First Anniversary

It's been a year since I first met Sarah, Alex, Kate and Natalie. A year since I psyched myself up to get on the bus to go to our meeting place. To put myself out there and meet a bunch of girls I have never met before. And by golly am I glad I did!

Photo from the night we met. L-R Natalie, Kate, Me, Sarah & Alex

We quickly became the best of friends. Together we started an online body positive community for Perth women, which has grown bigger and better than any of us imagined. We host events, blog challenges, and help inspire each other.

I value these ladies and their friendship so much I can't even put it into words. We each bring amazing and valuable qualities into our group, and each others lives. They are honest, loving, genuine, funny, and fucking fabulous. They have enriched my life, and my body positive journey more than I could ever have imagined. We always have THE BEST times together. We know we can ask a question to the group and get a genuine, honest answer. I love them with all my heart.

And, let's not forget our late comer to the group, Katie (she had to get here from New Zealand first!) She fit right in from our first get together, and although she wasn't there in person for the first few months, she was always there in spirit, so it was easy for her to slot right in :) And we are all so glad she did!!

We decided to have a dinner party at my house to mark the occasion. And we neglected to get any photos!!!! But, it was a fabulous night, and we even had some necklaces made up to mark the occasion (more on that at another time).

Thank you for everything you've done ladies! Here is to many more years together!

Perth Curvettes Modern Princesses - Snow White

I had an idea in mind for how I wanted to dress as Snow White, the only problem was, yellow isn't part of my colour palette, so had none in my wardrobe. Luckily, my Mum had just the thing, and I was able to complete my look!

So, here is my take on Snow White

I realise now I should have worn a white petticoat instead of a black one, but oh well. And I do have a bow in my hair, but you can't really see it. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with my outfit.

Jumper - Mums
Belt - ASOS Curve
Skirt - Heartbreaker
